The underlying engineering problem was a combinatorial explosion — a single carrier might offer five product families, each with ten term-lengths, multiple rider combinations, priced across dozens of age bands and health classes. What we built
We took the hard path: model the full Canadian life insurance product space relationally and compute quotes ourselves. The platform is built around three layers — a five-question quote wizard that returns side-by-side results across 20+ insurers, a MySQL-backed rate calculation engine that resolves any applicant profile against every relevant variant, and a licensed advisor workflow with FSRA-compliant audit trails baked into the architecture.
